He also suffers from guilt over his half-brother's death, despite it being an accident and his brother having abused him when he was younger. He also suffers from moments where he seems cold and callous, as well as moments where he seems just not to give a crap about anyone else, not to mention his tendency to be a womanizer that gives him something of a reputation that isn't always good.
Strengths & Weaknesses Strengths: Lucas is self sufficient, athletic and intelligent. He also knows how to do what is necesary and his apparent lack of morals allows him to do this when some would hesitate.

Weaknesses: Lucas suffers from deep pangs of heart over his guilt over his half-brother's death. He also has deep rooted psychological trauma from his Sister's suicide, his father and brother's deaths and his step-father raping him as a teenager. He is also arrogant to the point of narcisism when it comes to his abilities as an Engineer.
Ambitions Lucas' main ambition is to gain personal redemption for his actions that led to his brother's death. Another of his ambitions is to become an Engineering instructor at Starfleet Academy.
Hobbies & Interests Lucas enjoys building and fixing things. He also enjoys practising the 12 different forms of martial arts he knows, as well as training with a Bat'Leth, having developed an affinity for the weapon during his incarceration on the penal colony he was held in during his youth. Personal History Lucas Antonio Jameson, or Luc as he prefers, was born in New Orleans on Earth in 2358 to a Starfleet Officer and his wife as the youngest of three children, with an older brother and an older sister, with a younger brother being born roughly a year after he was. When he was 3, his father was killed in an accident aboard the USS Galaxy, where some systems were being tested. The event was quickly hushed up, leaving Lucas with no real explanation as to his father’s death.

A year later, his mother remarried, to the man she had been having an affair with since Lucas was about four months old. His older sister, aged 15, quickly deduced that the youngest brother was a product of this affair, a fact that their new step father made no attempt to hide. This caused rifts in the family, as well as the eldest child becoming the target for much abuse, including being raped by her step father on multiple occasions before she finally committed suicide.

Two years later, when Lucas was 8, his brother died of a genetic defect, leading to Lucas being tested extensively for the same defect, with no evidence of it being found. His half brother began abusing him, with his step father joining in whenever his mother wasn’t around, and denying it whenever he told her, taking great delight in beating him for ‘lying’.

Eventually, Lucas snapped and ran away when he was 14 after his step father attempted to rape him. This gave him issues with authority and a disregard for social rules, as well as a deep rooted sense of homophobia towards men. He was quickly arrested for stealing when he was 15 and was sent to a penal colony on mars for a year, despite only having a 6 month sentence.

When he got out, he applied to Starfleet academy in the intelligence and engineering divisions, while also studying flight control. He was accepted, thanks to a reference from the penal colony administrator, who gave him a reference stating him as being “fully reformed and ready to rejoin society in any capacity”.

He graduated four years later with sixty seven demerits, most of them involving fights with other students over matters most would consider trivial, such as one incident where he saw his girlfriend hugging a male cadet and proceeded to fight the man, breaking several of his bones, as well as sustaining several injuries himself. He soon discovered the girl had been seeing the man behind his back and decided it was pointless for him to pursue long term relationships anymore.

Upon his graduation in 2378, aged 20, Lucas was assigned as a junior engineering officer to the USS Intrepid. He served aboard the ship for three years, before being relieved of his duties for insubordination when the Captain rejected one of his suggestions on how to improve how smooth the decent on shuttlecraft landings were and he followed through with it anyway, nearly causing his own death and the death of the other junior officer who helped him test it.

He spent the next two years on Earth, working at Starfleet Intelligence. This posting was eventually ended when he seduced his boss into giving him a posting aboard a ship. He was then assigned to the USS Newton, a Galaxy class ship, as a junior engineering officer. Unfortunately, his younger brother was also assigned to the ship as a junior engineering officer.

Within six months, he and his brother were assigned to an away mission together, repairing a sensor relay that required manual input in orbit of a pre-warp planet, cloaked. Upon the de-cloaking, he and his brother were sent to repair it and began work. However, there was a power surge, obliterating everything on the sensor’s system, as well as killing his brother. Lucas came back, claiming he had tried to save his brother. In reality, he had tripped a control designed to wipe the system on the sensor by frying it, which had also vaporised his brother, causing him to panic.

A formal enquiry was held, at the end of which he admitted to it, finally giving into his personal guilt. He had a formal reprimand placed on his file and was informed that the odds were that he would never get his own command with that on his record.

A month later, he was transferred to the USS Enceladus, a Luna class Starship, in the capacity of assistant chief Engineer. He was granted a promotion to Lieutenant Junior Grade within six months. He served aboard the Enceladus for another year before being transferred to the USS Iapetus as the new Chief Engineering Officer.
