For those of you who aren't yet aware, I have been having multiple problems with my web host. I know there were some problems with e-mails not getting sent from phpbb forums & SMS (which was cleared up at one point, but then it started again, and back and forth from there) and a few other things. I've had to deal with incompetent support staff who sometimes take a day or two to respond; this has been happening over the past month.

In the interest of providing reliable hosting for all of you I'm most likely (98% sure) going to be switching web hosts in the very near future. In order to not have to pay for another 3-6 months of hosting from my current web host, I need to get everything moved by December 11th so I can close my account.

Obviously those of you (I think this is just one person actually...) who have regular sites (no TRSM/SMS/phpBB) won't be too difficult to move. However, the databases needed for TRSM/SMS/phpBB are more challenging (I'll spare you the details; if you want to know you can ask). Suffice to say that there are 2 versions and most web hosts only use the latest version.

I plan to back up everything on my fiance's server (he's with the company I'm likely going to go with) - that way I can ensure that everything will work. I'm hoping to test this out by this weekend (hopefully I'll get that wrapped up tomorrow actually).

IMPORTANT:
In order to actually switch web hosts, there will be some downtime for your sites - my goal is to get everything moved within 1-3 days. I know it's not pleasant to tell your crew to not post, but for this to work, that's what I'll need you to do (I'll e-mail you to let you know when I'd be moving things). My best suggestion would be to have them type up posts in Word so they can post once the sites are fully restored. Sorry to have you do that, but I'd rather see your sites be down for a few days than have long-running problems that I can't resolve. **Most likely this will be during THIS weekend - I'd suggest forwarning your crews so they'll be aware that it is coming...starting tomorrow it might be good for them to save all their posts in Word so that if I miss a few they can re-post when I have things back up**

Please keep in mind that I'm currently hosting 26 sites (and some have multiple databases, which in a way increases that number even more), so this won't be a quick process... I'll do what I can to make it as quick & painless as possible though.

OK, so what I get from this;

You can keep posting until we are notified when things will be moving, but you should be saving all posts on your hard drives from now on. For Joint Posts, either someone designated as the post leader, or the one with the highest rank should be keeping an updated copy on their hard drive.

We will be having a few day's downtime in which no posts will be able to be made - we should be all moved and set up by December the 11th.
