Chief of the Boat’s Log, Stardate: 62686.23

I scarcely understand it! I finish one day with a bit of recreation, go to sleep, and awake the next in the middle of a cacophony and a complete set of mayhem, along with more than my fair share of repairs to make. This is especially problematic considering the fact that I am not necessarily a member of a repair crew to begin with! Consider this, for example. As Chief of the Boat, and a Master Chief Petty Officer, I am formally an administrative member of the crew. I am not supposed to be handling these technically details in the formalized manner that they are presented to me. Never the less, I have to on a daily basis. I seriously wonder, sometimes, if we are understaffed or undermanned or something like that.

It would certainly seem as though Starfleet did not send us the appropriate number of technical operations crew, true. However, can we not have one day without the whole ship getting blown to smithereens? It seems that we have such poor luck with the operation that even this tirade of mine seems absolutely absurd. Then again, the whole condition is absurd.

Well, I guess I’ll be off to slave away again..
