I could hear them all screaming. The smell of burning flesh was filling my head but there we stood and the ground was peaceful. I don't understand any of this, in all honesty. Our survey of the residential district showed very few casualties but massive damage to the entire area. The levelling of the area almost seemed like an afterthought.

Lucas and I left the area behind as quickly as we could but I can't shake the feeling that there's something else to this. Hopefully some of the other crew will have found some kind of better evidence.

Other than that, my new assignment has been nothing if not interesting. I feel like I'm already a trusted member of the senior staff, something I've never really felt before. As long as the Captain trusts me, I'm perfectly happy with that. Hopefully once we're en route to our next destination I might get an opportunity to speak with some of the rest of the crew.
