Captain's Log, Stardate 66041.0

After the deployment of our security forces in Ktentha Province yesterday, the Prefect has once again contacted me here on the ship. This time however, it was a request of a different sort.

Apparently, support of her ministers has shifted since her original request, after the news of armed aliens firing on the local populace began to spread through the public. The news reports state that my officers were firing indiscriminately on both infected and healthy alike. I have reviewed the away team's report as well as the mission logs from their equipment, and have confirmed to the Prefect that this is not the case.

Though she appears to believe me, she has rightly passed on the wishes of the majority of her ministers, and asked that we now restrict our movements on the planet, as they try to keep the knowledge of our presence and existence under closer wraps so as to avoid panicking the population. I have agreed to her request, and recalled any personnel not currently working in our medical research facility.

I only hope that my crew will be able to find a cure for this disease quickly enough that more rumours of our supposed misdeeds don't escalate the situation more.
