Relaxation Disturbia

Mission: Shadows Fall
Location: Surface of Allura 9
Timeline: MD06 1600hrs

Vorn had remained on the planet's surface for the better half of their week of shoreleave - his time for the most part uninterrupted. With just a day left to go now though, he wondered whether his peace would last as he continued to read through the reports from Task Force 38.

He was currently reading through reports regarding the region of space immediately surrounding what was to become their home base - Starbase 900 - and making notes on a second PADD he had resting on the small table to his left. Specifically, he was currently reading about the Solaria Nebula, within which it seemed the Archadia system and Starbase 900 were located. Jokingly, the officer who had compiled this specific report had labelled the nebula's size as 'pretty big' - it still hasn't been chartered to even 25%, regardless of the fact it was one of the first things every ship saw when entering 'the Round Table' through the gateway and the fact that it had been discovered two years ago. In fact, it was estimated that despite the three starships which had so far attempted expeditions into it - the Excelsior, Tornado and Ticonderoga, less than 1% of the nebula has been charted and explored, due to the severe plasma storms throughout the nebula.

Regardless of the amount of danger the storms would pose, Vorn had the feeling that the ship's crew were capable enough, and that the ship's sensors sophisticated enough that the Luna class might be able to pull off a more concerted expedition of the nebula - providing they picked up a suitably skilled pilot. Vorn had been notified of Lieutenant Riller's departure from the ship shortly before he had beamed down to the surface, which left Petty Officer Cook once again the ship's senior helmsman until they could find a replacement for Mister Riller.

Just as his thoughts turned back in the direction of his ship, his combadge chirped. "Iapetus to Captain Krace."

Sighing as he realised his prediction that his peace wouldn't last much longer, Vorn tapped his combadge. "Krace here, go ahead."

"Captain, we've just been informed that the station's repair crews have completed their repairs to the ship, and we're ready to make way when you give the word."

"Computer; time?" Vorn asked, knowing that the sophisticated software in his combadge wouldn't transmit speech not intended for it.

"The time is sixteen hundred and seven hours."

There was just over twelve hours until Vorn needed to be out of the hotel anyway, and he doubted he would get much more done with these reports here that he could not do en-route. "Inform the transporter room to stand by to beam me up," Vorn instructed whoever was manning the comm channel. "And instruct the crew that they are to report aboard by ten hundred hours tomorrow morning. Krace out."
