Breaking Protocol

Posted on Wed Feb 11th, 2009 @ 10:29pm by Commander Acle Walex & Captain Vorn Krace

Mission: Dark Discoveries
Location: Shuttle Craft "Ghost One"/ Captain's ready room.
Timeline: MD3: 1300hrs

Acle sat in the rear of the small shuttle craft. He was the only passenger besides the crew which consisted of the pilot and co-pilot. The shuttle craft was not large, but, was big enough that Acle could make the call that he needed to with some degree of privacy.

Facing the terminal in front of him, he accessed the Shuttle's communications network. A prompt soon flashed for his password, which he entered. Soon, he was given full rights to the system. He entered in an address and waited.

As Vorn sat in the Bridge's command chair, the small console on it's arm began to beep at him. He frowned as he checked it, since not only did it say he had a personal communique coming in, but it didn't display any signs of who it would be off. After spending a couple of moments contemplating what that might mean, he stood and made for his ready room. "Lieutenant Biggins, you have the bridge." he said, as the doors opened infront of him.

Sitting down at his desk, he activated the communique; "Computer, accept message. Authorisation Krace-Zulu-Alpha-Niner." After receiving a short chirp from the speakers which even after all these years of serving on Starfleet vessels, Vorn had no idea where they were, the Starfleet emblem disappeared, being replaced by a familiar face.

Acle allowed himself to grin at the look on his old friend's face. It had been some time since the two had last talked, to long in Acle's own opinion. Although Acle never once regretted serving Starfleet, he did find their choice of assignments somewhat frustrating. Especially the type of assignments that he was likely to draw in this department.

"Greetings Captain." Acle said.

"Acle!" Vorn exclaimed as his old friend and XO appeared on-screen. "I haven't spoken to you since you left the Lincoln and disappeared off the face of the galaxy." It was at this moment that Vorn noticed the colour of his collar. "I won't bother asking what you've been up to, seeing the colour of your uniform," he said, smiling. "To what do I owe this honour, then?"

Acle shook his head "I wish I could tell you my friend... I cannot keep this channel open long, but, I thought I would give you warning. I have been assigned to the Iapetus as your CIO. You should have noticed that the position was conveniently left open. There are several things that you and I need to talk about when I come aboard. My time is up though Captain. I will be arriving soon. Ghost One is my craft's call sign. I will see you soon old friend, we shall have to have a drink for old time's sake. Walex out."

With that done, Acle ended the communication. He had just broken several protocols by making that call, but, what else was rank for if not to abuse the system? He had sacrificed a great deal of his future life and sanity to get to this point. He had higher clearance ratings then some Admirals, he had to carry a certain pill on his person at all times.

Acle sighed softly then leaned back in the chair. Life would surely prove to be interesting at least.
