New Position

Mission: Dark Discoveries
Location: Captain's Ready Room
Timeline: MD4 1100hrs

Bradley exited the turbolift on the bridge after recieving word that the Captain wanted to talk to him about something.

Walking down the ramp to the ready room his palms started sweating.

Standing in front of the doors Bradley pressed the chime and waited to enter.

"Enter" Vorn called as the chime rang.

Bradley entered the ready room and stood at attention.

"Lieutenant. Please, take a seat." Vorn said, indicating one opposite his desk. He paused for a moment, trying to decide how best to bring up what he wanted to say. In the end, he decided to just go into it. "Now, as I'm sure you are aware, the Iapetus still does not have a full set of senior staff assigned to it, a problem which I sent a communique to Starfleet with the aim to remedy before we set off for the nebula. I have heard back from one of my contacts on a recommendation for one of our vacant positions, Chief Counsellor. That recommendation was you."

Taking a seat Bradley listened to what the Captain had to say.

After hearing that he was recommended for the Chief Counselor position Bradley was stunned.

"Wow. I don't know what to say." said Bradley.

"Well, I'm hoping that you'll say yes." Vorn replied, smiling. "The recommendation, apparently, comes straight from one of your previous commanders as well as one of your instructors at the Academy. But it's down to you whether you feel ready for a change in career."

"Well if it came from one of my previous Commanders and one of my instructors then I guess I am the right person for the job. I'll take it." said Bradley trying to figure out who recommended him for Chief Counselor.

"Excellent." Vorn said. "Your office is on deck seven, and as fresh as the day the ship left drydock. Your first order of duty after you've settled in is to start up the standard psych evaluation program."

Brad nodded. "Very well sir. I'll send out notices with in the next 48 hours."

Vorn nodded to the Lieutenant. "Dismissed."

Bradley stood up and snapped to attention before leaving to head off to his new office.
