Our mission was to contact and develop a peaceful entry of the Bevrudl people in the United Federation of Planets. As such, Captain Vorn Krace, Commander Peter Brown, Lieutenant Jordan Gunning, and Doctor Balmorra descended to the planet's surface. At *ENCRYPTED* hours, all communication with the away team was severed. As per Starfleet Order 104, I am now acting captain. For now, I will treat the situation as a technological fluke. Due to the extreme nature of the mission and the diplomatic focus, I am forced to remain passive. However, I have come to the conclusion to break some of the restrictions imposed on us by the Bevrudl, such as engage full-spectrum scanning and full powered communications. If, within one hours time I am not given a satisfactory answer, and proof that the away team is well, I will order the ship to assume a hostile footing and regard the away team as being held hostage. I will update as information becomes available.
