Beware of the Whirlwind

The project suffered a slight setback when news of the first viable advanced interstellar propulsion system finally made it out of the extensive R&D phase and was quickly approved by the government.

We have watched with mild interest up to this point, the development of all native technological projects which could affect <. . . . . .> project. It is still in my personal judgement that even if by some miracle that the targets do create a working warp vehicle, they still lack the technological expertise to fully realize what I term as an "impossible dream" for them to achieve interstellar travel.

Still, with my work on the project taking up the majority of my attention, I maintain that without additional resources, it is almost impossible to monitor all of the efforts to achieve such an endeavor or if even they are only partially aware of the fate that is slowly building in strength and will soon sweep across the face of this planet.
