Exploring new surroundings

Mission:
The Fate of the Swiftsure
Timeline: MD1 1730 hrs
Emily had left the bridge and was slowly walking round the ship till she came to her quarters. She entered the room and the first thing she saw was her regeneration unit which took up most of the room. The room wasn't perfect but it was acceptable.
She moved around the room to explore her sonic shower, replicator and a sitting area. But she was unsure what she should do as she didn't require food and she didn't need to regenerate.
She then thought of Doctor Valdez
"Computer, locate Doctor Valdez." she ordered.
"Doctor Valdez is in sickbay." the Computer replied.
"Thank you." Emily said before she left her room. She went immediately to sickbay and when she entered the room she saw the Doctor exploring her new environment.
"Good day Doctor. Is it a bad time?" Emily asked.
"Lt. Hamson!" exclaimed Elena, her face lighting up with a smile. "Not at all! How are you?"
"I'm fine, thank you." She answered.
"Just stopping by for a visit? Or are you making good on your promise to let me do a few scans?"
"Both. As a new member of the crew I require a medical checkup and I never break my promises." She stated in a firm manner.
"I won't keep you waiting then," responded Elena, gesturing towards the patient treatment area.
Emily moved over to a bio-bed and sat on it by jumping up and landing on the bed.
"Big day for us, being new on the ship and everything," began Elena as she calibrated her medical tricorder. "How are you feeling? Nervous, stressed, or anything?"
"No." She answered.
Elena began by taking down Lt. Hamson's vitals: blood pressure, heart rate and the like. Everything normal there. "Do you have any complaints at this time? Are any of your implants bothering you?"
"No." She repeated.
Setting aside the tricorder, Dr. Valdez began running the standard scans required by Star Fleet to determine whether an officer was fit for duty. The biofunction monitor displayed information regarding the ex-borg's hematologic, neurological, respiratory, and gastrointestinal functions, among other things. Elena noted with interest that many of the numbers were definitely off baseline for a normal human despite Emily's obvious good health, and she attributed this to the changes borg technology had wrought upon her frame. The musculoskeletal scans in particular were going to keep the doctor's brain engaged all day.
"So far everything looks good, although your body's chemistry is different enough from most patients that I'll need to review your past medical records to make sure nothing is out of whack. In the mean time, is there anything else you need?"
"You do not wish to conduct anymore to cure your curiosity?" Emily asked.
Elena chuckled in response. "There's no curing my curiosity, I'm afraid! But yes, I would like to perform some additional tests. I simply was finishing up the Star Fleet required physical first. Work before play and all."
"I agree." Emily replied.
"I would like to get a blood sample first, if you don't mind. I'm very interested in studying your borg nanites."
"Proceed." Emily ordered.
"I'm also going to run a detronal scan of your DNA." The doctor selected a hand-held devise from a table full of such tools and began taking readings for later analysis. It only took a few moments, and then Elena set the scanner aside and gestured towards the imaging chamber on the other side of sickbay.
"For the last scan I'd like to run you'll need to lay down here," said Elena, patting the bed of the imaging chamber. "I'm going to create a holographic map of your body so that I can study in detail your borg implants and how they interact with your organic systems."
Emily nodded and awaited for the blood sample to be taken before she would climb onto the imaging chamber and lie down. With well-practiced motions the doctor completed the procedure, and then set the sample aside for later analysis.
Now that Lt. Hamson was in the imaging chamber Elena took a moment to configure the settings. She had been itching to play with this thing all day- it wasn't the type of equipment a small-town general practitioner generally had available. The scan began, and below a holo projector mounted into the ceiling appeared a 3D image of Emily's bones, organs, and musculature. Metallic, insidious-looking devices blossomed throughout her anatomy, the legacy of Emily's time in the collective.
"And there you are," said Elena, gesturing towards the slowly-rotating hologram. "What do you think?"
Emily observed the holographic image,
"Its nice." she answered and slowly walked around it so she could observe it at every angle.
That was a huge understatement to Elena, who was beaming at the results her new toy had produced. She took a moment to rotate the image this way and that, zoom in on various implants, and deconstruct the hologram into different layers to highlight separate sections of Emily's anatomy.
"Thanks again for your time, Lt. Hamson. You're free to go...although I remember you mentioning you may need more frequent visits than most other crew members, correct?"
"Yes. I require weekly checkups to confirm that my implants are stable and working." She answered.
"I'll put you on the schedule," responded Elena. "Until next time then!"
Emily nodded and left sickbay, she was going to return to quarters till she was needed.
