Exchange of Command

Mission:
Docked
Location: USS Lincoln - Bridge
Timeline: Fifteen Minutes after "The Adventures Start Anew"
Vorn stepped onto the bridge of his ship - his old ship, he reminded himself, and looked around at the crew manning their stations. They had no idea yet as to what the orders contained in the PADDs he was still holding had in store for them. He still felt detached from the events of the day, even as he stood there looking at his people. His silence caused a very noticable delay in the time it took for the Lieutenant on bridge duty to notice him and stand to attention.
He nodded over to Operations. "Open all shipboard frequencies. I have an announcement to make." he said. After receiving a nod from the communications controller, he put as much confidence in his voice as he could, and spoke.
"Crew... this is your Captain speaking. I want you to shut down your stations, and finish up your duties - the Lincoln is going to Condition Blue, and will be running entirely on station power until a team from the Fleet Yards come to collect her." he paused as he saw the confused looks on the faces of his bridge staff.
"The USS Lincoln is being decommissioned. She has served Starfleet for many decades now, and she is in need of a major overhaul to make her spaceworthy enough to remain in fleet service. This refit will take up to a year or more, and as such, all members of this crew are no longer assigned to the ship.
"Admiral Locke has assigned us a new home, however. In a couple of short hours, the Luna-class starship, USS Iapetus, will be arriving at Starbase 386. A brand new ship, straight out of her shakedown, to which I have been given the keys. I want everyone to collect all their belongings, and move onto the Starbase. All duties are suspended until the transfer is complete. The Senior Staff and I will ensure that the Lincoln is all squared away before we leave.
"Master Chief Eagle will converse with the docking authorities and find out where the Iapetus will be docking, and I want you all to wait in the airlock loading bay until she does. Captain Krace out."
He nodded to signal to close off the broadcast. His officers had more of a look of understanding on their faces now, but still were a bit shocked at the news.
"I'll be in my ready room." he told the Lieutenant still standing in front of the command chair. "The bridge is...." he paused, stopping himself from saying 'yours'. "No-ones." he corrected himself. "Get your gear together people."
