An Expected Surprise
Posted on Tue Nov 10th, 2009 @ 12:55pm by Commander Peter Brown & Captain Vorn Krace & Commander Acle Walex & Commander Jordan Gunning & Lieutenant Commander Abigail Valera
Mission:
Into a Devil's Heart
Location: U.S.S Lincoln, U.S.S Iapetus
Timeline: MD06 1800hrs
[U.S.S Lincoln]
Peter walked to the Tactical station. In the time he had been waiting for Vorn, he had built torpedoes from designs which would prevent them being detected by conventional sensors.
"Now Vorn, I must go to War. You can't follow where I am going," said Peter as he entered the commands overriding helm controls. He adjusted his course to above Omega III.
~Computer, Fire~ Said Peter
The U.S.S Lincoln adjusted its course hidden from the unsuspecting U.S.S Iapetus. 4 Torpedoes, green in colour left the tubes of the Lincoln and travelled towards the U.S.S Iapetus striking the ship's shields.
[U.S.S Iapetus]
The Ship rocked as it was stuck. "Damage report," Vorn ordered.
"Captain, four direct torpedo hits. Shields are holding though." Jordan replied as the odd spark flew from several of the consoles around the bridge.
Vorn nodded to himself. His gut had told him that they had found the right nebula, and that they would encounter trouble once they got there. It was times like this where it paid to be cautious, and he was glad he'd ordered the ship to yellow alert before breaking orbit.
"Sir," William (NPC) looked around from the Ops console. "The torpedoes are masked from our sensors, but it looks like their target was the fire control computer."
Vorn knew that if they wanted to disable Peter quickly, he didn't have time to try to find a way to detect the torpedoes. "Put the ship on-screen, and keep it there," he ordered. They'd use the visual to see when torpedoes were launched, so they wouldn't be caught off-guard.
"Bring us around, intercept course Mister Cook," the Captain ordered. "Mister Gunning, target the ship's torpedo launchers, and fire at will." He'd read the report on the status of the Lincoln's refit, and there were too few phaser banks still there to actually pose a threat to the Iapetus - added to that, the banks were old models, and would have a hard time penetrating the ship's shields even if they were still attached to the hull and wired into the power distribution system.
Jordan was delighted to finally be at the tactical controls of the ship. He realised that having a smile on one's face during a life or death situation may be considered something of a faux pas but his inner glee was evident as he turned the weapons controls over to manual and began to target the torpedo launchers.
[U.S.S. Lincoln]
Peter quickly entered the Commands in the Helm Station as he Boosted Power to the Impulse Engines he weaved towards the Edge of the Devils Nebula he then Fired Four Torpedoes Towards the Nebula to Start an Chain Reaction as he entered six Different Course Plots he ran to the Tactical Station Fired the Phasers in an Pattern which with the course Plots that the Iapetus was doing it will fall in his Trap
"Smart Move Vorn, using the Linc, against me" Said Peter as he sat in the Command Chair he then Pressed the communication channel on the View screen of the Iapetus they saw the Lincoln Bridge then they saw Peter unshaven hair a mess
==^==This is Peter Brown of the Starship Lincoln, Captain Krace as an Warning you Better not Follow me, they don't call it devils Nebula for Nothing==^==
~Computer Warp 4~
[U.S.S Iapetus]
"He's heading straight for the nebula," Vorn said quietly, as he watched the Lincoln turn on-screen. "Match his course and speed!"
"Sir, should we follow that close to the Nebula?, at his course he will enter in 40 minutes " Asked Tom (NPC)
"Captain, Peter may be right about that nebula, but we need to get him back." She hesitated and said, "Let me talk to him and try to get some sense through that thick skull of his. He's my friend Captain and he just might listen to me." She waited for Vorn's answer of letting her contact Peter, "And captain going into the nebula is completely up to you. That nebula does look dangerous, but if Peter is worth it then you have to go after him."
"I agree we may be able to cease with without further weapons fire, but a warp chase is no time to do it," Vorn said, as he began accessing something on his armchair computer.
"Helm, increase to Warp 5. Catch up with the Lincoln, then reduce to warp 4 when we're alongside. Acle; I need you to open a communication to the Lincoln's computer. Mask it as a hail, or whatever, but I need that channel."
"Aye Aye Captain." Acle said calmly before moving to a station close by. He gave the officer occupying the console a significant tap on the shoulder then assumed the seat when the officer got up. His fingers became that of a blur as he began imputing information. There was always a backdoor into any program, he just had to find it... A smirk crossed Acle's face a few moments later.
"Mister Cook, prepare to drop out of warp on my mark," Vorn ordered. As the two ships flew side-by-side, Vorn waited until Acle gave him a nod, and then he quickly tapped a five-digit code; 1-8-3-9-0. The Lincoln's prefix code. Even for an intelligence officer like Peter, access to even the knowledge of such a code would be restricted. Vorn had only obtained it through the information he'd requested off Rear Admiral Iluvar about the Lincoln. Hitting enter, the console bleeped, acknowledging the prefix code had been accepted.
"Computer; shut down USS Lincoln's warp drive, shields, and weapons. Mister Cook; mark!"
As the two ships dropped back into sub-light speeds, Vorn ordered a tractor beam attached to the Lincoln. "Open a channel," he ordered, standing from his chair, and beckoning Abigail over to him.
Abigail joined Vorn and waited for Peter to answer. Peter might become doubtful for what he was doing. The young woman took a deep breath and prepared to speak.
[U.S.S Lincoln]
~Computer:Override enabled~
Peter walked over to the Tactical station as the count down came to Zero as he knew now that the torpedoes impacted the Nebula
~Computer given the information added to the Database how long until Subspace Reaction is complete~
~Computer:4 Minutes 15 Seconds, Suggest Emergency Protocols are in place~
"Damn it Vorn, we won't survive this but I might have to Play my Card" Said Peter as he Opened an Channel knowing unless he didn't act the Crew will be killed and to Dammed with Regulations
==^==Captain Krace, Under Starfleet Regulations and Command Protocols, Stand Down Weapons as well as Under Intelligence Protocols you are not Authorized to take me into custody as per Omega Clearance 3-A Gold or above is only Authorized, this Message will now end, Brown Out==^==
Peter ran to the Side station and entered the Commands activating the Lock down Protocols of the Ship and decompressing all Decks and locking out the Bridge with an Transporter inhibitor
[USS Iapetus]
"Captain," William said, as he manipulated the controls. "Commander Brown has decompressed all decks, save for the bridge."
Vorn rubbed his chin as he thought. Peter hadn't responded to his hail - at least, not by opening conversation, and so he needed a new way to end this. "Can you beam him out of there?"
"No sir. He's activated a set of transport inhibitors."
"Dammit," Vorn replied, pacing the bridge. "I need suggestions, people."
"Sir... Full assault. We go in locked and loaded armed for bear. Full battle armor and NBC equipped. If we have to, we break through the blast doors." Acle paused for a moment, then gave the captain a significant look. "The USS Lincoln represents enough firepower to devastate several small colonies."
"Normally, I'd agree with your assessment of the Lincoln's firepower," Vorn replied. "But she's halfway through refit. She doesn't even have any functional phaser banks, and I'm betting that Peter's nearly used up the full arsenal that he'd of had time to manufacture with the industrial replicators. Soon, the ship's firepower will be practically non-existant." He paused, as he thought of a response to the first troubling element of Acle's suggestion. "And I'd rather not have to kill him," he said at last. A full assault normally only has one outcome for the person on the receiving end of it.
[ U.S.S Lincoln]
Peter hands flew on the Operations station controls he manage to get the Computer to Arm the Torpedoes in the Bay he knew he couldn't fire with the system failures but at least he had transporter as with most of the systems shutting down Peter had an way to use what he had as Being an Field Agent on Active Duty then then manage to get transporter controls to beamed armed torpedoes around the Hull of the Iapetus
~Computer:3 Minutes 25 Seconds until Reaction Complete~
"Dammit, the only way is to Make him Surrender" Sternly Said Peter
==^==This is Peter Brown to the U.S.S Iapetus, you are ordered to Surrender before I destroy you, Dammit Vorn you can't win don't you realise a trap when you see one and I know the crew, right now you are asking Acle ways to bypass my transporter inhibitor and Abi will just about tell you she is detecting strange readings from the Nebula==^==
=^=You forget, Peter,=^= Vorn replied, even as he silently indicated that Abigail should check the readings from the nebula. =^=I know you even better than you know this crew.=^= he began to pace the bridge confidently as he talked to the man on the other end of the line. =^=Right now, you have realized that I have remotely disabled your warp and impulse drives. Your shields are down, and you have all of the Iapetus' forward torpedo launchers locked onto your hull. Your weapons systems are offline, and so you're going to be thinking of other ways to inflict some damage on my ship.=^= he gave the 'cut signal' sign to Acle as he finished his sentence, instructing him to stop out-going communication.
"Mister Gunning, I need shields at the best possible strength you can get them, and as close to the ship as possible. Right by the hull, please. Bring the redundant generators from the regenerative shielding system on-line - that should double our shielding power. Then I need you to fire all phasers in a full spread around the ship. Clear our immediate area. Keep your shots off the critical areas on the Lincoln, but don't be afraid to rock his boat a little in the process."
"Torpedoes have detonated on the outer edge of the shields, sir!" Jordan shouted across the bridge to the command chair. "Shields are down to 83%. Could have been a lot worse. I think he was trying to beam the torpedoes inside our shields. Needless to say it didn't work."
Vorn gave the signal to continue communications once the immediate space around the Iapetus was clear. =^=Peter, it's over. Stand down. I have orders from Rear Admiral Iluvar of the 8th Fleet to use all force I deem necessary to bring you in, and stop you being a threat to the members of the Federation. You have been officially declared a renegade. If you have anything to say to explain your actions, I strongly suggest that you do so now.=^=
==^==Vorn, This is Omega Clearance access, get Acle to get the Conformation Code Zulu-Echo-Seven-Eight-Niner, that will release an Operation called Nightwalker then Enter description Echo-Echo-bravo-Bravo-Eight, will give you the Name of the Agent in Charge, Vorn I am break my Orders by telling you this, I have been recalled to Federation Security, to brief you I need Acle to give you and Abi Omega Clearance then the three of you to beam over then we will talk==^==
Vorn looked silently over his shoulder to where Acle was sat, hoping for clarification on what Peter had just said.
Acle raised an eyebrow, but, quickly turned to his console. He imputed his own access code into the system to gain root access then bent himself to the task at hand. He entered in the codes that Peter had provided and stared at the screen as the results came up. "Captain... I am transferring this to you now."

Operation Nightwalker
Mission:Black Ops [search and destroy]
OIC:Whitestone
Agent Activation:Redsky
Situation: SEARCH AND DESTROY potential leak in Starfleet Intelligence High Command. The leak is expected to be high in the hierarchy and therefore well protected. Leak also works mostly independent of that of Intelligence, therefore making it harder to get to. Leak is to be considered extremely dangerous.
Rules of Engagement: ANY MEANS NECESSARY. Avoid civilian casualties.
---------------------------------------------
Acle waited, looking at his captain's features to see what expression he would register.
Vorn's brow furrowed, suspicion clear in his expression. A black ops order? Peter was supposed to have been removed from any active Intelligence rosters before he boarded the Lincoln two years ago. "Is this verified?" He asked Acle. Receiving a nod, he stood a moment in silence.
"Peter, disable your transport inhibitors. I'm coming over," he said, as he began walking towards the turbolift. "Acle, Abigail, you're with me. Lieutenant Gunning you have the bridge." He tapped his combadge as he entered the lift.
=/=Petty Officer Williams. Stand prepared to beam over if Commander Brown needs forceful retrieval. I said you would be on the away team to retrieve him, and if he needs retrieval you will be. But that may no longer be necessary. Stand by for further orders. Krace out.=/=
