The Resupply Quickstep

Posted on Sat Jan 16th, 2010 @ 1:19pm by Captain Vorn Krace & Commander Acle Walex & Commander Peter Brown & Lieutenant Commander Abigail Valera & Commander Jordan Gunning & Lieutenant JG Winter Balmorra & Lieutenant JG Jourdan Abbott

Mission: Borderline Diplomacy
Location: USS Iapetus
Timeline: MD01 1903hrs

As Vorn made it back to the Iapetus after the meeting with Admiral McDonald (and a quick, stiff drink afterwards), the men on duty at the airlock were able to judge his body language well enough to refrain from attempting to make any amount of jovial conversation as he went past as they had earlier when he had left, only an hour ago. As the Captain passed them, the two men shared a look which clearly said 'we know we're not going to be here long', before turning back to look towards the airlock hatch, lest their Captain turn around and catch them. He wasn't angry yet, but it was clear to the two men that the slightest spark could set him off today.

As he stepped onto the Bridge, Vorn waved for the Lieutenant who was sitting in the command chair, watching the bridge during blue alert to stay where he was as the Captain approached, with Vorn instead simply making use of the LCARs panel on the armrest to access the shipwide intercom. "Attention, this is the Captain," he said, his voice strong as it reverberated through hidden speakers on all decks. "Resupply work is to be completed as fast as you can make it, we're leaving dock as soon as the ship is re-stocked."

Nodding to the staff on the bridge to carry on, he made his way towards the observation lounge, to make use of the larger room and wall space to review the data they had on the Bevrudl.

Acle looked up from the PADD he was reading at his desk, his terminal unlocked before him. The XO's office was dim, a reading light on at his desk as Acle preferred it. As the Captain gave his announcement, Acle frowned, then sighed. It didn't look like very many people would be getting shore leave this round. He put the PADD down and leaned forward in his chair, quickly navigating to the requisition forms that any refit/resupply order needed. He began filling them out and transferring them directly to the station quarter-master. He would follow the forms over directly.

Jordan sat quietly at his terminal. There was very little to do but he had Allison doing an inventory of the ship's torpedo complement and therefore there was no chance he was going anywhere near her for the next few hours. Instead, he sat and fiddled with his soundproof forcefield. Recalibrating it every so often to boost the amplitude. He stood and walked over to the replicator at the rear of the bridge, nodding to Commander Walex as he went.

"Computer, decibel-metre."

There was a tiny whine and a blue tinge to the tiny panel which appeared on the replicator. He carried it back to his console and sat it on top. "Computer, isolate the signal of the last replication on the bridge and activate forcefield 'Gunning Alpha-Five'." He said as he took a note of the reading before the forcefield went up.

Jordan looked at the reading on the metre. "Zip, zilch. NADA!" He proclaimed loudly.

Abigail turned to look at Jordan. She stared at him and wished he would just be silent for a moment. She turned back to her station and continued to work. She knew that Vorn had returned, but she couldn't say anything while on duty.

Jordan caught her eye and he noticed the ice-cold glare. "Sorry, Commander."

"It's alright Lieutenant. I'm not angry just a little distracted at the moment." Abigail turned and gave Jordan a smile before returning to her console and her work.

Peter was looking at his Computer terminal in his quarters going over the latest Intelligence reports and Fleet Movement reports directly from Fleet Command he was tired being up for the past 30 hours making sure there was nothing else that needed to be given to the Capitan then he heard the announcement from the captain

==^==Brown to Walex, if possibility see if we can get and ODN Secondary Data Transmitter Assembly which will give us more up to date information from Starfleet Command==^==

Acle paused in his final review of the form as his combadge chirped. He frowned slightly, then deleted an entry and began to imput more data into the form. He quickly hit his badge to activate the link.

==^==Walex to Brown. I'm adding it to the list now Commander. They may have to fabricate it though, we'll see what the time constraint is. Either way, I'll get it for you. Walex out. ==^==

The bridge doors swished open and a young woman stepped out onto the bridge. She looked around hoping for someone to show her where her station was. Jourdan always felt slightly nervous when it came to a new assignment so she hung in the door not stepping onto the bridge yet.

Abigail looked up and saw the new addition to the crew. She stood up and went over, "Welcome to the bridge, lieutenant. Follow me." Abigail beckoned for the silent woman to follow her and then headed to a station and said, "This is your console. If you need any help at all then you can ask either me or Lieutenant Gunning. Mr. Gunning please make yourself known."

Jordan was still hell-bent on perfecting his forcefield and only took vague notice of the commander's order. "Evenin', Lieutenant." He said, waving a hand in the air.

Jourdan smiled at him as she followed the commander to the console. She started tapping away to check on her duties, she always felt slightly nervous on an assignment.

After spending ten minutes going over the data he had been given on their mission, Vorn tapped his combadge. =^=Walex, Brown and Balmorra, report to the observation lounge,=^=
